In the popular show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, actor Kavi Kumar Azad, who rose to fame after playing the role of Dr Haathi died of cardiac arrest on Monday.

The sudden death of Dr Haathi, Kavi Kumar Azad left the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah team shocked.

Actor Dilip Joshi, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah who is seen playing the role of Jethalal in the show is shocked by Kavi’s demise. He stated that he was in London and had no idea about the sad news adding that he needs to find what happened.

The actor Kavi Kumar Azad who played Dr Hansaraj Haathi had been a part of the show for almost eight years died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest on Monday; he was 45.

Mandar Chandwadkar aka Bhide in an interview said, “I still can’t believe that he is not with us. We used to sit together, eat together. As soon as he used to come, even before greeting us with a good morning, he used to ask, ‘Tiffin mein kya laya hai?’ He was a foodie in real life also. He is irreplaceable.”

He stated that it is a big shock as they were supposed to shoot but then they came to know that the actor is unwell, so the team decided to let him rest and work without him.

He also stated that the news of Kavi’s demise was confirmed by the show’s creator, Asit Kumar Modi.

In a statement , he said, “We are very sad to inform the loss of our senior actor Kavi Kumar Azad. He was playing the character of Dr Hathi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. We lost him to a massive cardiac arrest today morning. He was an amazing actor and a very positive person. He truly loved the show and always came for the shoot even if he was not feeling well. He called today morning saying that he is not well and will not be able to come for shoot. And later we got the news that he passed away. We are all too numb to say anything.”
