Virat Kholi undoubtedly is one of the fittest athletes, he is one of the youth icons. He is the one who has been setting the fitness goals not only for his life partner Anushka Sharma but also for the masses and other professional athletes around the world.
Even the Indian captain Virat Kohli a few months ago has joined the vegan club of athletes.

As per a report in a national daily, Kohli turned vegetarian "Two years ago, when he was on a normal diet, he had said that he would go vegan if given a choice. He is now feeling stronger than before," a source was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Bollywood actor and wife of Virat Kholi Anushka Sharma also revealed about her diet habit.

Anushka while campaigning for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, declared that she is a vegetarian and is proud of her choice.

Anushka three years ago switched to this diet, "Going vegetarian was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have more energy, I feel healthier, and I'm so happy that no animals had to suffer for my meals," says Anushka.

Even as per research it has been found that people who stick to a vegetarian diet are healthier than the ones who follow a non-vegetarian diet.

1. It lowers the chances of obesity

As per the research, it has been found that vegans are leaner as compared to non-vegetarians. Even the cholesterol levels body mass index (BMI) are comparatively lower in vegans. 

As per some studies, a vegan diet can help you lose weight in the long run and also result in eliminating the risk of obesity. So, now, you have a good reason to choose samosas over cheeseburgers.

Non-vegetarian food increases anger whereas green veggies lower your anger level. Therefore eating broccoli over beef can, in fact, induce a sense of happiness.

Non-vegetarian foods contain high Arachidonic acids which is strongly linked to mood disturbances. This acid, however, is absent in vegetarian foods. So, to avoid frequent mood disturbances, stick to a vegan diet.

5. It even lowers the risk of cancer

Vegans have the lowest risk of cancer because vegetarian diets are considered effective for keeping cancer risk way.

As per studies, vegans and vegetarians who consume more of plant-based diets are at a lower risk of cancer. The properties of these diets are known to have protective benefits for consumers, especially for women.

6. Low risk of heart diseases
Consuming too much of non-vegetarian food increases your cholesterol level and a healthy heart does not ask for the cholesterol, which always the non-vegetarian food offer.

The heart asks for the vitamins and minerals contained in plant-based foods. Antioxidants contain in the vegetarian foods keep your heart safe from oxidative stress, thereby lowering the risk of heart diseases.
